In 1964 Gale Garnett wrote and performed this hit song, which I well remember from that time. In these recent weeks leading up to the 20th anniversary of 9/11, inexplicably, my interest in the song has popped up again. I had to do my own version of it, using all the tricks and tools of GarageBand to keep my voice in as good tune as possible. Walking bass line and plano accompaniment: my own. I attach Ms. Garnett's version below so you can hear what it's supposed to sound like.
Below: my rendition of We'll Sing in the Sunshine...

We'll sing in the sunshine, We'll laugh every day.
We'll sing in the sunshine, Then I'll be on my way.
I can never love you, The cost of love's too dear.
But though I cannot love you, I'll stay with you one year.
We'll sing in the sunshine, We'll laugh every day.
We'll sing in the sunshine, Then I'll be on my way.
I'll sing to you each morning, I'll kiss you every night.
But darling don't cling to me, Or I'll be out of sight.
We'll sing in the sunshine, We'll laugh every day.
We'll sing in the sunshine, Then I'll be on my way.
My daddy he once told me, She won't take any man.
So take what she can give you, And give her what you can.
We'll sing in the sunshine. We'll laugh every day.
We'll sing in the sunshine, Then I'll be on my way.
When my year has ended, And I have gone away.
You'll often speak about me, And this is what you'll say,
We sang in the sunshine. We laughed every day.
We sang in the sunshine. Then he went on his way.
