God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
A traditional English Christmas carol, first published in 1764 (Wikipedia)
For decades, I've played the first half on the piano, but stumbled on the second half. This year, 2023, I finally practiced it enough to get the whole piece out at tempo, in this version with myself singing all four voices!
God rest ye merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay,
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day;
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy,
O tidings of comfort and joy!
